Qualifications:
Education: Shall hold a Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program and must have completed an APA approved clinical or counseling psychology internship.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Must have and maintain a current license to practice Clinical or Counseling Psychology in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands that allows for the independent practice of clinical services. Must be license-eligible by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Psychology, and must obtain licensure in Alabama within six (6) months of beginning work on the contract
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years within the past five (5) years in the practice of clinical psychology, preferably in a Government setting such as a DOD or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Must have experience providing clinical services to individuals, couples or groups in clinical psychotherapy services. Two years of active military service is preferred. SERE Level-C Full Spectrum certified through the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency (JPRA) is preferred. CPR certification is required.
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a classified security clearance at the SECRET level verifiable through the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS).
Other Qualifications: Completion of a SERE Level-C Full Spectrum training curriculum is mandatory.
